Q.  My agency's name is displayed on your database, does that mean we are registered with you?

A.  No it does not.  Just because we have your firm's name and address does not mean that we have your contact details. Register now to avoid doubt

 

Q.  How many agencies are already involved?

A.  There are over 2,000 commercial property agencies in the UK.  Although we are growing we still have space within our quotas for most UK regions.  We do not give out information on agency numbers.

 

Q.  How do businesses who are seeking premises find agentalert?

A.  Companies are increasing turning to the internet as a starting point in their search for new premises.  Online, agentalert (together with our sister site commercialpropertyagencies.co.uk) is very prominent within the industry sector and has grown to become one of the most visited UK commercial property sites on the world wide web. 

 

Q.  I am sure someone else within my company / office / department already knows about agentalert.  There's no point in me taking it any further is there?

A.  We hear this time and time again particularly from larger agencies or firms with multiple offices.  If you think our service could be of value, lead the way.  Future deals may be lost if you don't take action.

 

Q.  Why do businesses register their offices and industrial requirements with agentalert?

A.  Because its free and because they get frustrated with trying to find details of available properties through listings sites (which a commonly out of date) and because they have limited time to spend tracking down and contacting agents directly.  By using our service they can broadcast their property needs to active agencies in a few seconds with a single click of a mouse.

 

Q.  How do I know that all my competitors aren't also receiving leads from agentalert?

A.  Because we have a policy of not signing up every agent in each town or city.  We operate a quota policy which means that the information we distribute is still very exclusive.

A.  Primarily offices or industrial warehouse premises.

 

Q.  What other services do you offer?

A.  Apart from receiving office and industrial enquiries from occupiers, you can send and receive your own clients' requirements using a specially designated section in our 'Agents Only' section.  You will also be able to access our password protected Enquiry Archive which allows you to peruse leads we have received from occupiers during the previous 14 day period for all parts of the UK.

 

Q.  What happens next?

A.  Our system parses their requirement information and then prepares and instantly sends an individual email 'alert' to appropriate agencies containing all relevant details.

 

Q.  How long has agentalert been going?

A.  We launched the website in July 2000.

 

Q.  What parts of the UK does agentalert cover?

A.  We receive and distribute leads for all regions of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.  Tell us which region(s) you deal with and we can switch the enquiries on.

 

A.  agentalert is owned by Tenant Strategies Ltd, a specialist commercial property consultancy established in Surrey in 1992.  Why did we set it up?  Because of a need from occupiers we spoke to over a period of time and because the internet now made our unique service possible.
Q.  What size of enquiries do you receive and distribute to agents?

A.  The size of enquiries we receive from occupiers varies.  The minimum size is 1,000 sq ft.  The largest we have received was for 500,000 sq ft.  Average size is in the 6,000 - 7,000 sq ft range.

 

Q.  Do any of the major commercial property surveying firms back agentalert?

A.  Many well known surveying firms have joined us including Lambert Smith Hampton, C B Richard Ellis, Jones Lang LaSalle, Weatheralls,  Gerald Eve, Dunlop Heywood Lorenz, Fuller Peiser, FPD Savills and Drivers Jonas.  More are joining each month.

 

Q.  I only have a small agency, how can the service benefit me?

A.  Feedback we have received from small agencies suggests that they get tremendous value from the leads we provide.  Using your specialist skills across the varied range of enquiry types is the key.

 

Q.  How many enquiries can I expect to receive each month?

A.  The volume of leads we receive varies depending on market activity, time of the year and also the location of your office.  On average we receive around 1,000,000 sq ft of enquiries per month (from occupiers - not agencies).  As an example, if you were an agency in Central London dealing with offices and industrial/warehouse premises within that region, you could expect to receive over 500 leads per year (based on the volume received during the last 12 months)

 

Q.  Can we put details of our own properties on your website?

A.  No.  We are not a searchable commercial property listings site.  We exist solely for the purpose of putting occupiers in touch with agents.

 

Q.  Would any of these occupiers be prepared to retain us to find them premises?

A.  Analysis shows that around 30% of enquiries we receive are from occupiers who confirmed that they are prepared to retain an agency at the time they registered with us.  We believe this demonstrates the profile and urgency of the companies that use our service. Remember - these people want you to contact them. That's why they registered with us.

 

Q.  We already subscribe to EGI / CPD / Focus / Streets Ahead.  Why do we need agentalert as well?

A.  None of these services does what we do.  All are very much more costly.  Put simply,  these providers concentrate primarily on supplying information about properties.  agentalert is an absolutely complimentary service which supplies details of businesses who wish to rent or buy properties.

 

Q.  What do you need from us so that we can join?

A.  All you need to do is register your details with us

 

Q.  How do we get our company name onto your main page?

A.  We display some of our members' names in rotation on our main page.  This is changed periodically and you are welcome to put your name forwards after joining us. We'll see what we can do.
